My nursing journey began at the age of 19 in the Philippines, where I spent my first 10 years building a strong foundation in healthcare. I later moved to New Zealand, where I lived for 12 years, honing my skills across various healthcare settings and completing further studies. In early 2018, my family and I relocated to Melbourne, where I returned to aged care and eventually rediscovered my true passion — community and primary health care nursing.
After more than two decades in the profession, I’ve learned that there is no “one-size-fits-all” healthcare plan — even for participants with similar conditions. Every individual deserves care tailored to their unique needs and circumstances. Effective healthcare requires collaboration among participants, their families, healthcare professionals, and allied services to create a personalised-centered plans.
Having knowledge and expertise alone doesn’t make one an effective nurse or support worker — listening does. Our participants hold valuable insights into their own health, and their voices are essential in shaping the care they receive.
LIFEMODE was founded on this belief: that genuine care begins with understanding each participant’s specific needs, preferences, culture, and values. By working in partnership with them, we aim to deliver compassionate, individualised, and empowering healthcare experiences that promote positive outcomes and lasting well-being.
